Advantages And Disadvantages Of Case Study Analysis

Students in their academic journey are required to develop case studies. This type of assignment might seem quite tedious, and you might not understand how it can benefit you. So, you need to learn a bit about it before you make up your mind. Case study analysis is one of the most common types of qualitative analysis.

Students must thoroughly observe a social group, a person, and even a family member. This type of analysis add developed so students can have an in-depth understanding of a particular subject.

Case study analysis has certain advantages and disadvantages. First, students must learn about them and show that while preparing it, they know what kind of problems they might encounter.

Advantages:

Writing a case study analysis can be difficult, so students can seek case study writing help. First, however, students must learn the advantages.

1. The purpose of a case study is to completely understand the behaviour pattern of a selected group or individual.

2. Helps to acquire real and informed documentation of personal experiences.

3. This technique allows the student to discover the natural history of the social group and its association with the social factors and the factors involved in its surrounding environment.

4. It helps to formulate applicable theories along with the data, which may be helpful in testing them.

5. It helps the rigorous study of social groups, which is why the case study technique is frequently used, particularly in social research.

6. It helps a lot to the student in constructing an appropriate questionnaire.

Limitations:

A few limitations of the case study technique may as well be highlighted.

1. Case situations are rarely comparable, and the collected information in case studies is most of the time not comparable. Since the subject under the case study explains the history, rational concepts and units of scientific classification must be read into it or out of it by the student.

2. Time is one of the significant disadvantages of case studies. From the beginning to the end, the process of presenting case studies is wide and time-consuming. The more scholars are involved in it, the more complex it becomes.

There is a lot of data that are accumulated. It is not just the researchers who can affect the outcome of this type of research method.

Apart from the above-mentioned limitations, you can find that case studies are undertaken in several fields as a tool of scientific research. Therefore, most of the disadvantages can be avoided if students remain conscious of these and are aware of the latest methods of accumulating case data and the scientific methods of assembling, classifying, and processing the same.

Summary- case studies, in the latest times, can be performed in a manner that the information is amenable to quantification and statistical treatment. Once students know the advantages and disadvantages, they can also understand the purpose.
